Hekimler hep işinin başında mı olur?

Hiç gezmezler mi?

Bu sorulara yanıt ararken DNA Turizm Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Dr. Alpay Genç ile hekimlerin yurtdışı gezileri üzerine kapsamlı bir röportaj gerçekleştirdik.

Merhaba Alpay Bey, öncelikle sizi biraz tanıyabilir miyiz? 

Merhabalar, öncelikle Medikritik ekibine teşekkür etmek isterim. Sizleri izliyorum ve haberciliğinizi oldukça başarılı buluyorum. 

1991'de Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinden mezun oldum. Askerlikle birlikte 1996'ya kadar hekimlik yaptım sonra Boğaziçi Üniversitesinde MBA yapıp, 18 yıl kadar da ilaç  sektöründe üst düzey yöneticilik yaptım. 5,5 yıl önce tekrar hekimliğe döndüm. Şimdi Yeni Yüzyıl Üniversitesi Özel Gaziosmanpaşa Hastanesindeki 3. basamak bir üniversite hastanesidir, acil servis  hekimliği ve onkoloji kat hekimliği yapıyorum. Aynı zaman da 2002'de kurduğum ve butik turlar düzenleyen A belgeli bir seyahat acentası sahibi ve yöneticisiyim. 

Gezmeye daha doğru doktorlar için gezi turları düzenlemeye ne zaman karar verdiniz?

Gezmek yeni yerler görmek, yeni kültürleri tanımak, bir kültür işi  ve bir yaşam biçimi benim için. Oldum olası gezerdim. E haliyle ilaç sektöründeyken de gerek güzel ülkemizi gerekse de dünyayı oldukça fazla gezdim. O dönemde daha çok ilaç ve medikal sektöre hizmet veren, toplantılar yapan bir seyahat acentası olarak kurmuştum DNA Turizm firmasını. 

Bu kararınızda ne etkili oldu?

Fark ettim ki ülkede turizm sektöründe oldukça vasat işler yapılıyor. Özellikle giden hekim arkadaşlar gittikleri harcı alem turlardan memnun olmuyorlar. E bu çok doğal; hekimlik  topluma göre bir kaç tık daha çizgi ötesi bir meslek. Sakın burada elitist bir yaklaşımda olduğumu düşünmeyin, hekimler en azından yabancı dil biliyor, kendi başına karar verebiliyor, meraklı, öğrenmek ve rehberden dinlemek istiyor. Kendisine yakıştığını düşünen otellerde kalmak,  zaten azıcık olan tatilinde gününü ve gecesini tam anlamı ile değerlendirmek istiyor. Piyasadaki vasat turlarda ise ucuz olsun diye, şehir dışındaki üç yıldızlı otellerde konaklatılıyor, bir sürü ekstra tur çıkarılıyor konuğa. 

Hekimler o turlardan mutlu olmuyor,  mutlu dönmüyor. Bir önemli konu da hekim hangi dünya görüşünden olursa olsunlar, çalışma ya da tatil ortamlarında birbirlerine saygıda kusur etmiyorlar. Ama tatile çıktığını unutan ve benim “hak arama paranoyası sendromu” diye tanımladığım sendroma kapılmış özellikle beyaz yakalılar, turlarda gerek rehber ile gerekse de diğer konuklar ile aralarında çıkardıkları olaylar ile oldukça sinir bozucu olabiliyor. Bu bizde hiç yaşanmadı. 

Bir de doktor doktora gezmek benim iyi bildiğim bir iş;  gerek üniversite yıllarında çevre illere yaptığımız sınıf  turlarını düzenlerdim, ilaç sektöründe de kongre gruplarını yurt dışına götürürdüm,  ya da etkinliklerini planlardım, oldukça da keyif alırdım. O ara Docs Club ile tanıştık. Sosyal medyada doktor ve diş doktorlarını bir araya getiren bir oluşum. Bazı ürünleri ve hizmetleri birlikte daha ucuza alabiliyoruz. O kulüpdeki dostların yurt dışı gezilerini de DNA Turizm olarak biz organize ediyoruz. Biz bize,  aile ortamında 18 yıllık, artık rüştünü ispatlamış bir profesyonel turizm firması aracılığı ile dünyanın her yerine makul fiyatlara aldığımız iyi hizmet sayesinde tur düzenliyoruz ve birlikte geziyoruz. Turlarımızdan dönen hekim ve diş hekimi arkadaşlarımız da genelde çok mutlu dönüyor. 

Belki biraz klişe bir soru olacak ama yine de sormak istiyorum. Gezen mi bilir, okuyan mı?

Ben hayatı öğrenmenin iki yolu olduğunu düşünüyorum bir akademik, iki gerçek hayat. Okuyarak da öğrenirsiniz damar yoluna girmesini, sutür atmasını ama gerçek hayatta yaşayarak uygulamazsanız,  o bilgi gerektiğinde pek işe yaramaz. Okumak ve gezmek birbirini tamamlıyor bence hayatı öğrenmek için. Gezerken, okumamak gerek ama. İnsan o zaman çok şey kaçırıyor. Ya da okuyarak, gezmemek, bir yere çarpabiliyor insan. 

Takip ettiğim kadarıyla çoğunlukla yurtdışı gezileri düzenliyorsunuz. Katılımcılarınızın doktorlardan oluşmasının ne gibi bir faydasını görüyorsunuz?

Yaptıklarımızın tarafınızdan fark edilmesi sevindirici. Doğru yolda olduğumuzu gösteriyor. 

Hekim hekime olduğumuzda,  öncelikle aile ortamı oluyor, her siyasi görüşten, her dünya görüşünden, her uzmanlıktan arkadaş geliyor. İdareciler de oluyor zaman zaman, belki de yaban ellerde olmak mıdır nedir nedeni herkes bir oluyor, birbiri ile dayanışma içine giriyor, tıpkı üniversite yıllarındaki gibi. Saygı zaten hep üst düzeyde yaşanıyor. Özlediğimiz bir duygu. 

Bir de rehberlerimiz çok mutlu oluyorlar onlar genelde konuşmayı anlatmayı seven insanlar, eh tıp eğitiminden geçmiş insanlar da hem dinlemeyi hem öğrenmeyi seven insanlar, bir birlerini uygun ortamda bulduklarında herkes mutlu oluyor. Rehberlerimiz çok keyif aldıklarını dinleyenleri gördükçe daha da anlatma şevki geldiğini söylüyorlar. Grubun içinde çocuklar olması da ayrı bir keyif. Hemen her grubumuzda ufacık yaşlarda yeğenlerimiz oluyor. El birliği ile destek vererek aileye turları tamamlıyoruz. Şu an an itibari ile Kuzey Işıkları turunda  19 aylık bir Nihan bebişimiz var örneğin. En genç Kuzey Kutbu gezgininin gözlerinden öperim. 

Kısaca “Çizgi ötesi insanlar için çizgi ötesi turlar” düzenlemeyi seviyoruz. 

Yaptığınız turlarda başınıza gelen ilginç bir kaç olayı anlatır mısınız?

O kadar çok güzel ve ilginç olay geliyor ki ama çok taze olduğu için en son yaşadığımı anlatayım. Geçtiğimiz hafta, Kuzey Işıklarını izlemek için  ve kuzey kutup dairesindeki tundralardaki yaşamı gözlemlemeye , Rusya topraklarında yer alan Murmansk şehrine gittik 40 kişilik bir grup ile. 

Önce Moskova turunu yaptık, sonra Murmansk'a gittik . Gündüzleri bir sürü ilginç aktivite yaptık, Husky köpeklerinin çektiği kızaklara, Ren geyiklerinin çektiği kızaklara bindik, buzu deldik, buzda balık avladık. Akşamları da Kuzey ışıklarını izlemeye gittik.  Kuzey ışıkları avı deniyor ve resmen av yaşıyorsunuz, elinizdeki application dan takip ediyorsunuz nerede görülme olasılığı yüksek ise o tarafa gidiyorsunuz. Ve gece Kuzey Kutup Dairesi çok soğuk. Eksi ondokuz derece. İlk gün gittiğimizde kar yağışı vardı, bulutlar yakındı ve ışıkları göremedik. İkinci gün gittiğimizde bekledik bekledik biz gece saat 01.30'da otele döndük Lady Aurora hazretleri saat 02.30'da çıkmış. Nazlanıyor bize. Göremedik. 

Son gün ışık avına çıkacağız ve sonrasında da uçağımıza gideceğiz. Gittik park ettik, başladık izlemeye birden o müthiş doğa olayı başladı. Herkes sevinç çığlıkları atıyor hiç birimiz o yaşlarımıza kadar görmemişiz öyle şey. Profesyonel fotoğrafçı ayarlamıştık, sırayla fotolarımızı çekiyor. O ara tura gelen çiftlerden bir doktor bey “Alpay abi her şeyi ayarladım, ışık altında evlenme teklifi yapacağım sen de şampanyayı patlatır mısın?”  dedi. 

Çok önemli bir ana tanıklık edeceksiniz, insan heyecanlanıyor tabi. Doktor bey ve kız arkadaşı, fotoğraf çektirecek gibi geçtiler kameranın karşısına, delikanlımız diz çöktü, yüzüğü uzattı Kuzey ışıkları altında evlenme teklifi yaparken fotoğrafçı o anı ölümsüzleştiriyordu. 

Ben mi?

Şişeyi açmak için eldiveni elimden çıkarma gafletinde bulunmuştum, hadi orası neyse alkışlar arasında şişeyi patlattım, dökülen şampanya ellerimi ıslatmasın mı ? Eksi ondokuz derecede her iki elimde incecik şampanya buzundan yeni bir eldivenim oluverdi. Tabii eller donunca çok acıyor. Otobüse koşup elleri anca 10 dakikada ısıtabildim. Genç çifte vesile olduk, kendilerine mutluluklar diliyorum.

Evet hem de İstanbulun en belalı semtlerinin önde geleninde,  hem de 3. Basamak acil serviste hekimlik yapmak zor. Ama olsun nöbetleri yoğun tutup arada kaçabiliyorum, dinlenip  yine aynı tempo ile çalışabiliyorum. Sonuçta ekmeğimi hekimlikten kazanıyorum, turizm işi benim için profesyonelce yapılan bir hobi. 

Yıllar önce Bornova Anadolu Lisesi'nden mezun olduğumda ve tıp fakültesine girdiğimde yakın bir arkadaşım da Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Turizm bölümüne girmişti. O yıllarda iki yıllıktı onun okulu. Sonra İzmir'de bir araya geldiğimizde bana demişti ki "Alpay sen 6 yıl okuyacaksın ve hayatın boyunca insanların en dertli en sıkıntılı olduğu,  hastaneye gittikleri zamanki halleri ile uğraşacaksın, bense iki sene okuyacağım sonra insanların en mutlu, en eğlenceli oldukları zaman olan tatildeki halleri ile keyif içinde çalışacağım."

Ben şimdi hem acilde en dertliler ile hem de tatildeki en keyifli dostlar ile yaşayıp gidiyorum işte.
